Bought these for the padded collar alone and it hasn't disappointed, that mid-puff foam around the ankle is soft right out of the box with no break-in period. The layered suede panels are holding up way better than the canvas shoes I usually skate in.

Wore these straight out of the box for a full day of skating and nothing rubbed or blistered, which never happens with new shoes. The mid-puff foam on the tongue and collar is the real deal, feels like the padding from the 90s pairs I grew up destroying.

The suede upper broke in nicely after a few days, and the padded tongue keeps my feet from sliding around when I skate. Grip tape chews up the toe a bit faster than I'd like, but that's pretty normal for suede.
